The limitations of CAD design become evident in projects of international relevance where a dimensional error, a wrong calculation or interference between unresolved elements can become a very important economic error.
It is for this reason why Group ATP for an Oil & Gas project decided to design and subsequently manufacture the HVAC systems through a BIM process.
Each element of the system, whether it is an equipment such as a AHU, a heater or a diffuser, or a channel, has been designed with a construction detail 1: 1 according to the current legislation, taking into account flanges, insulations and hangers.
Through this modeling it was possible to solve any interference with the steel structure and the other systems present, as well as to create a BoQ with precise quantities in which it was possible to trace even the single bolts of the anchors.
