INTRODUCTION
A short introduction to the 2018 BIM competition
To make this event a success, the BIM object creator Polantis has joined forces with the city of Suresnes and INS HEA (National Advanced Training and Research Institute for the Disabled) to bring back to life a 1930s urban treasure: the Suresnes open-air school. Let us introduce all the players involved before moving on to this year's programme.
• Suresnes Attractive, friendly, well balanced and always at the forefront of new services, the city of Suresnes offers its residents a place with the perfect balance of economic vitality and a pleasant, quiet urban environment in the immediate vicinity of the capital.
• The MUS (The Urban and Social History Museum) The MUS presents the history of Suresnes, its urban landscape and its social and economic development. The museum highlights the social urbanism of the 1920s to the 1940s, whose finest examples include the Cité-Jardins district and the open-air school launched by Henri Sellier. The city of Suresnes and the MUS, Museum of Urban and Social History, invite entrants to join a visit to the school on Tuesday 16 January at 10:00 or Thursday 1 February at 14:30. Places are limited
• The INS HEA (National Advanced Training and Research Institute for Handicapped Youth) This national public institution for training and research dedicated to special educational needs and accessibility issues will soon move, freeing up the buildings and grounds of the Open-Air School it currently occupies.

PROGRAMME
1 - The 2018 BIM competition asks entrants to consider the creation of a grammar school for 500 pupils in the city of Suresnes. Entrants must design the digital model including one or more buildings located within an existing cluster. BIM objects from the competition's industrial sponsors should be included in the digital model.
2, The Suresnes open-air school, built by the architects Eugène Beaudouin and Marcel Lods, stands on this existing cluster block. Entrants should include a proposal to repurpose it.
The programme requirements for the grammar school were set by Polantis's architects and confirmed by the city of Suresnes. In the local urban plan (PLU), the grammar school is classified in zone UD of the regulations (see the appendix cited by the regulations).
