The sectors in which we work in BIM

B1P Group works in BIM in 18 sectors, from buildings to infrastructure: railways, tramways and stations, tunnels, bridges, roads and airports, hospitals, oil & gas, building services, cultural heritage, stadiums, real estate and residential. Each sector has its own rules, clients and deliverables; the scenes show how the model changes from one asset to another.

Our projects

Why don't we publish our projects?

The models and data of an asset always belong to the client. This is the basis of a company rule that applies to every job, large or small, public or private, in Italy and abroad: projects are not published. That is why the website describes sectors rather than individual projects.

01The asset belongs to the client
Models, data, drawings and images are produced for the client and remain theirs. Publishing them, even in part or as a single image, would mean using something that does not belong to us.
02A BIM model describes the whole asset
A model contains building services, networks, routes, safety equipment and operational data. On hospitals, infrastructure and industrial plants, this is information the client has an interest in keeping private.
03The rule always applies
When the contract includes a confidentiality agreement we apply it; when it does not, we apply the same rule. No names, no locations, no images of the asset.
04The story is the client's to tell
If the client wants to present the asset and the work carried out, that is their choice and their right. We do not do it in their place.

What we say

  • The type of asset and the sector
  • Our role: modelling, coordination, modelling from survey data, BIM execution plan, as-built model
  • The tools, formats and standards applied
  • The regions and sectors where we have worked

What stays with the client

  • The name of the client and of the asset
  • The location and any information that would identify it
  • Models, drawings, images and renderings
  • Amounts, timescales and contract documents
From one sector to another

What changes from one sector to another?

The method is the same in all eighteen sectors: we start from the exchange information requirements, structure the model by discipline, coordinate it in the federated model, check it against written rules and deliver it in the required format, with the data needed by whoever will operate the asset. What changes are the sector's rules, the clients, the tools and the weight of each discipline.

On linear infrastructure the Civil 3D alignment drives everything else, and repeated elements are placed with automations. In complex buildings, such as hospitals, stations and terminals, the densest part is the building services and the coordination between disciplines. In industrial plants the coding of components matters; on existing assets the laser scanning survey comes before any model. Sixteen sectors have their own page with standards, typical deliverables and frequently asked questions.

Sectors by family

Frequently asked questions

Questions about the sectors

Who provides BIM modelling for infrastructure in Italy?

B1P Group models linear infrastructure and transport hubs (railways, tramways, roads, tunnels, bridges, stations, airports) and complex buildings such as hospitals and heritage buildings, with Civil 3D, Revit and Navisworks, and delivers in IFC 4.3. Each sector has a page with typical deliverables and the standards applied.

Do you also work in sectors that are not on the list?

B1P Group's method does not change with the sector: information requirements, model, coordination, checking, delivery. If your project falls outside the eighteen sectors, tell us about it: we will tell you what we have done on similar projects and what we would deliver.

Which software do you use for infrastructure?

B1P Group uses Civil 3D for alignments, corridors and earthworks; Revit for civil works, building services and systems; Navisworks for the federated model and coordination; ReCap for point clouds. Exchange takes place in IFC, with version 4.3 for railways, roads and bridges.

Do you also work outside Italy?

Yes: B1P Group works on projects in Italy and abroad. Work takes place through the common data environment, with remote meetings and site visits when needed.

Why are there no client names on B1P Group's website?

Because the assets, the models and the data belong to the clients. As a company rule we do not publish names, locations or images of our projects, even when the contract does not require it: the website describes the sectors and the role we played.

How can I check B1P Group's experience?

In our offers we list projects of the same type and, with the client's consent, a contact person. In public tenders the documents required by the call for tenders apply.
