Revit 2026 is available for download from today

You can download the new version from your Autodesk Account or through the Autodesk Access app: https://manage.autodesk.com/products

The most important new features include:

Performance and interface

  • Accelerated Graphics (Tech Preview): a new graphics engine that uses modern GPU technology to make 2D and 3D navigation more responsive. It is a per-view setting, which you can turn on from the context menu or from the new on-screen toolbar. blocksrvt, augi
  • More flexible classification: the interface now uses “Classification Number and Title” instead of fixed references to OmniClass, with a direct link to the Classification_Taxonomy.txt file in the settings. augi

Architecture

  • Topography (Toposolid): recessed subdivisions and a new subdivision category, for more efficient and flexible modelling. You can now also create depressed subregions, with negative values. autodesk, blocksrvt
  • New wall tools: walls by room and by segment. blocksrvt

Structural engineering

  • Parametric Rebar Cranking: makes it easy to model cranked bars in congested areas, avoiding clashes. autodesk
  • New options to disable the automatic shortening of elements, giving the structural engineer more control. hagerman

MEP engineering

  • Apparent power calculation: a new feature that can be turned on for electrical loads. blocksrvt

Documentation and workflow

  • Automatic placement of views on sheets: automates one of the repetitive tasks of documentation. autodesk
  • Sheet collections: introduced in Revit 2025, they have been further refined. blocksrvt
  • Shared parameters extended to view annotations: sections, elevations, callouts and references. augi

Coordination and interoperability

  • Coordination models: much improved graphics and visibility control. augi
  • New “Show imported CAD” option for better handling of imported CAD files, plus orientation and performance improvements for IFC links. augi

Other new features

  • ReCap Pro plugin for Revit, to bring survey data (reality capture) into workflows. The scanning and mesh conversion workflow with ReCap Pro is one of the headline features of this release. thecadmasters, autodesk
