Revit 2027 is available for download You can download the new version from your Autodesk Account or through the Autodesk Access app: https://manage.autodesk.com/products

The most important new features include:

Artificial intelligence and cloud

  • Autodesk Assistant: an AI-based assistant built directly into the software, offering a natural language interface for carrying out modelling tasks. New features also let you modify views through the Assistant. The official release notes list it as a Tech Preview.
  • Forma Connected Client (Tech Preview): Revit is the first desktop application to integrate deeply with Autodesk Forma, and you can create a Forma project directly from the Revit home screen. Teams can access the georeferenced scenarios and shared data of Forma Site Design from within Revit.

Architecture

  • Walls hosted on other walls: when creating a wall, turn on the “Hosted wall” option.
  • Rule-based numbering: lets you create templates with parameter-based filters, custom prefixes, sequences and tailored formatting. For example, doors can be numbered according to the room they are in, and a new door gets the correct number without manual updates.
  • Tag leaders: all tags have control points at the start and end of the leader line. You can snap the ends to Revit elements, adjust them individually and align the elbows across several tags.

Structural engineering

  • Consistent behaviour of steel shapes: elements with void cuts now work with Steel Connections and modifiers, with consistent parameters, graphics and in-canvas controls.

MEP engineering

  • Improved modification of MEP fabrication parts, for both editing and documentation.

Sustainability

  • Forma Carbon Insights is accessible from the Analyze tab in Revit and brings embodied carbon tracking into the design workflow. A new “Carbon Asset” tab in the Material Browser lets you enrich materials with data such as the database source, the category and embodied carbon factors. A connection to databases such as EC3 is planned.

Collaboration and workflow

  • Issue management (Issues) built directly into Revit for all users, no longer as an optional add-in.
  • Control of line weights in linked models.
  • IFC interoperability improvements.
