The Order of Engineers of the Province of Rome, together with the Foundation of the Order of Engineers of the Province of Rome, is offering its members a free, in-person technical seminar. The seminar is open only to members of the Order of Engineers of the Province of Rome whose membership fees are up to date.
Our talk will be from 16.15 to 16.45 On the topic: Survey modelling Speaker: Matteo Proia
The “Road Infrastructure” Committee of the Order of Engineers of the Province of Rome, in collaboration with the “Analysis and Assessment of Deterioration in Existing Structures” Committee, is offering a free technical seminar that will present the latest technologies and recent developments in surveying and digitising existing structures, the basis for infrastructure design. These topics concern the new horizons and scenarios of modelling, such as BIM and the DIGITAL TWIN. In particular, it is worth remembering that BIM, or building information modelling, now represents the future of infrastructure design: a methodology that creates a digital model with significant potential for the future operation and maintenance of assets as well. This modelling is not limited to geometric information but also covers the functional, performance and environmental characteristics of an asset, whether it is a bridge, a building or a simple kerb. The digital twin is a digital representation of a physical object or system: it can interact with the real world through integration with sensors and other IoT devices, which will be shown during the event. These technologies, although still emerging, could revolutionise the entire construction and asset management sector.
